The Commissioning (24 August 1940)
The commander of the Bismarck, Captain Ernst Lindemann, has just come aboard and takes the report of the officer of the watch. Captain Ernst Lindemann inspects the honor guard at the level of Turret C (starboard side); behind him is the First Officer, (I.O.) Frigate Captain Hans Oels, and next to him, with adjutant's braid, Lieutenant Commander Burkhard Baron von Müllenheim-Rechberg, the senior officer of the Bismarck to be rescued.
Captain Ernst Lindemann inspects the officers. The commander of the Bismarck, Captain Ernst Lindemann, is awaitet.
After the commissioning ceremony the Bismarck stayed at the equipping pier of the Blohm & Voss in Hamburg for the final fitting-out and the running-in of her crew.
