Open Bridge

Conning Tower

An excellent starboard view of the conning tower. Remains of the camouflage (wellknown stripes on the super structure) can still be seen on the wreck. The stripes were not entirely removed in Norway before Bismarck broke out in the Atlantic. The horisontal surface is painted in dark grey.

The conning tower seen from the port side. Notice the huge damage to the left of the photo. Dark grey horisontal surface of the conning tower and super structure white camouflage stripes is easily recogniseable.

Another port side view of the conning tower and open bridge. The huge damage to the bridge area is most likely caused by a big 40,6 cm (16 inch) shell from HMS Rodney. The shell didn't explode, but have been fatal for people on the bridge..
