Part 3 - Armament
38 cm (14,96 inch) Main Armament
One of the main turrets laying upside down some distance from the wreck of Bismarck.
A close up view of one of Bismarck's main turrets.
15 cm (5,9 inch) Secondary Armament (Port Side)
A view of the first (P 1) 15 cm (5,9 inch) secondary armament.
Here the second (P 2) armament 15 cm (5,9 inch) can be seen.
A view of the third and most aft positioned (P 3) 15 cm (5,9 inch) secondary armament can be seen. It is pointing out from a 90° angle from the hull.
15 cm (5,9 inch) Secondary Armament (Starboard Side)
Here the first of the starboard side mounted 15 cm (5,9 inch) secondary armament. The only of the six secondary turrets that are still in zero position. The crew got trapped in the turret as the door had blocked. They all died in there. Also notice the 10,5 cm heavy anti-aircraft gun to the left of the photo.
A good view of the center 15 cm (5,9 inch) secondary turret. The horisontal surfaces and barrels on all the secondary armament was painted in dark grey. In the background one of the aircraft hangars can be seen.
The aft 15 cm (5,9 inch) secondary turret. Comparing the size of the turret with the super structure, to the right, gives a good indication on how big these turrets are.
