The Final Outfit
Storing ship at Wilhelmshaven before proceeding to sea for trials and the work-up.
Just a few days after commissioning, following the completion of her engine and speed trials, Tirpitz leaves Wilhelmshaven. The ship is not yet fully fitted out: amongst other items still ashore is the entire fire control system for the main armament.
Tirpitz at Kiel for the resumption of fitting-out. The picture shows her close by the extended bridge of the naval complex. A view from the port side showing the ship enmeshed in camouflage netting as a counter to enemy reconnaissance. The large rangefinders have now been installed.
